The Approach to CDDP

The CDDP is designed to accommodate singular consultation and workshop style. Both approaches deliver the same result and individuals are free to make a choice on any of the two. Below is the outline of the individual consultation. You can see the details of the next workshop HERE

Individual Consultation

Stage 1: Introductory meeting (Free)
The objective of this meeting is to check if the CDDP is for you.

Usually, you spend between 20-30 minute with a Career Consultant to get more information about the Programme and for us to know your expected outcome. This meeting could hold via skype, telephone or face to face.

Stage 2: Preparatory Exercise
Once it is agreed that the CDDP can help you achieve your objective(s), some preparation exercises will be sent to you via e-mail before your first Meeting. The exercises should take between one to two hours.

Stage 3: Taking stock

Meetings 1 and 2 (1.5 and 2 hours)
The first meeting is a time for you to reflect on your life experience in and out of work based on your objective(s) of taking the programme. You will be guided by your Consultant on how to gain from the reviews.

Based on the direction of the engagement, this stage may involve doing some exercises and questionnaires between the meetings. You will find the exercises enjoyable, reflective and will help direct the focus for the next meeting.

Areas that may be explored include;
  • When you are at your best
  • Your motivations
  • Core work and life values
  • Your transferable skills

The result here will set the pace for your second meeting where your Career Consultant will collaboratively help you to identify themes and insights from any exercises. At the end of this session, you will be better placed to ascertain the key "Work and Life Satisfiers" you want for your future.

Stage 4: Identifying ideas & Options

Meeting 3: 1.5 hours
You will be able to evaluate a range of options for future work and life scenarios that align with your work and life satisfiers. The options would include ideas on full and part-time work, self-employment, voluntary activities, ways to utilise your creative side, and other ways to combine interests, and the need for income.

We will use a combination of tools and exercises to come up with new ideas as well as critically examine existing ones.

Stage 5: Making things happen

Meeting 4: 1.5 hours
Since the desired outcome is centred on change, once you are clearer about yourself and have some ideas you definitely want to follow up, we will work with you to address the 'blocks and bridges' to making the change happen. We will also work with you to create practical next steps for action as appropriate.

Follow up meetings could be scheduled to support execution of plans if it becomes necessary.
